From April 2010 to March 2011, he was also a visiting scholar in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Dr. Li is mainly engaged in research of information resource security management, signal and information processing, pattern recognition and machine learning. In the past years, he has taken charge of a set of national/provincial level research projects including Chinese National Natural Science Foundation Project, National Basic Research Program of China (973 Plan), Chinese National Key Technologies R&D Program Project, Chinese National 863 Plan Project, etc., has authored or co-authored more than 120 SCI/EI papers, which had been published on journals and conferences such as IEEE Trans. on CyberneticsIEEE Trans. on CommunicationsIEEE Trans. on Signal ProcessingIEEE JSACIEEE Trans. on CSVTNEUROCOMPUTINSignal Processing, and leading conference ICIP, etc., and has edited 4 academic books. In addition, he has more than 20 Chinese invention patents authorized by SIPO of P.R. China, and has obtained 4 software copyrights. Dr. Li has also received some academic awards and honors, including The 1st Award of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress in 2003 and 2013 respectively, The 2nd Award of Science and Technology Progress of Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2016, New century talent of Chinese Education Ministry in 2006, Shanghai dawn scholar in 2007, A-Level SMC Morningstar Young Scholar of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008, etc.

Dr. Li has taught some courses for undergraduates and graduate students, including Theories and Technologies of Network Information Security Technologies, Digital Signal Processing, Computer Viruses.
